Thanks to a ruling elite who are unwilling or unable to accept that their ill-gotten privilege (from a predatory system) is leading us directly towards a future of widespread violence, pain and suffering.
Hi Sean, the short response: Yep, sho 'nuff. The longer one: obviously: preparation! Although the limits of anyone's resources may fall far short of requirements. I'm striking for a middle ground approach: physical shelter, a heatwave/NBC-light/low-utility-bills shelter (I currently live in texas so heat, rather than cold is the more pressing concern, earth shelter handles both) but beyond that a comfortable lifestyle in a weather turbulent future without technology seems improbable, so I'm looking to create a technological self sufficiency, at least on a level able to repair or rebuild basic modern technology (AC, power generation/Solar, plumbing, rainwater/large water storage, greenhouse/growhouse tech etc.) and to do that takes a fairly substantial set of tools and machines.
